Valculator — Privacy Policy
Effective date: November 6, 2026
The short version: Valculator collects no data. None. The app runs entirely on your iPhone and has no analytics, tracking, accounts, servers or ads. Its only network communication is with Apple’s App Store, to process the optional Valculator Pro purchase.
What the app stores
- Photos, videos, files and notes you add to the vault are encrypted (AES-GCM, with a key derived from your PIN) and stored in the location you chose at setup: inside the app on your iPhone, or in a folder in the Files app (which can be on iCloud Drive). Nothing readable is stored on disk.
- If you choose an iCloud Drive folder, Apple’s iCloud stores the encrypted vault files as part of your own iCloud account. We never receive them, and they can’t be read without your PIN.
- Encrypted backups you export go wherever you choose to save them.
- Your preferences (PIN length, Face ID on or off, app icon, behavior settings) are stored locally on your iPhone.
None of this is ever sent to us. Your PIN is never stored in readable form and can’t be recovered by us — we have no copy of anything.
Photos, Files and Face ID
- Photos: the app reads only the photos and videos you pick to import. If you choose to delete the originals after importing, iOS asks you to confirm. You can also save items back to your Photos library.
- Files: the app reads only the files and folders you pick.
- Face ID: optional. It’s handled entirely by iOS; the app only learns whether unlocking succeeded and never sees your face data. When Face ID is on, a copy of the vault key is kept in this iPhone’s Keychain, readable only after Face ID succeeds, and never synced or sent anywhere.
What the app does not do
- No data collection of any kind — personal or otherwise
- No telemetry, analytics or crash reporting
- No third-party SDKs, trackers or advertising
- No account or sign-in
- No servers: the developer runs none for this app
Purchases
The optional Valculator Pro upgrade is a one-time In-App Purchase processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. Valculator never sees or stores your payment details; Apple’s own privacy policy governs the transaction. The app checks your purchase status locally through Apple’s StoreKit framework.
Children
Valculator doesn’t collect data from anyone, including children.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of Valculator ever changes any of the above, this policy will be updated before that version ships, and the App Store privacy label will reflect it.
