ScanHub Privacy Policy

ScanHub (“the app”) is a document scanner for Android, published by RainLab (package com.rainlab.scanhub). This policy describes what the app does with your information. The short version: your documents stay on your phone, and we collect nothing.

What we collect

Nothing.

ScanHub has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting, and makes no network requests of its own. We do not collect, transmit, store, or sell any personal data, usage data, or documents.

Your documents

• Pages you scan are stored only on your device, in the app’s private storage.
• A document leaves your device only when you share it yourself using the Android share sheet. Where it goes then is decided entirely by you and handled by the app you share it to.
• Deleting a document or a page in the app permanently removes the underlying files from your device. Uninstalling the app removes everything it stored.

Camera and photos

• Scanning uses the document scanner provided by Google Play services (ML Kit), which runs on your device. ScanHub itself does not hold the camera permission; the camera is operated by Google Play services, and the app receives only the pages you choose to keep. Google’s processing for this feature happens on-device; images are not sent to Google by ScanHub.
• Importing from your gallery uses the Android photo picker, which shares only the specific images you select. The app has no access to the rest of your photo library.

Advertising ID

The app does not use, request, or contain the Android advertising ID.

Children

ScanHub is a general-audience utility. It collects no data from anyone, including children.

Third-party services

The only third-party component involved at runtime is Google Play services, which provides the on-device scanning feature described above. Google’s own services are governed by Google’s privacy policy.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app changes any of the above — for example, by adding an online feature — this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the effective date above will change.
